On Monday 10 February at the fib Congress in Mumbai, India, the 2014 Freyssinet Medals were awarded to Armando Rito (Portugal) and Joost Walraven (The Netherlands). Honorary membership was also bestowed on C.R. Alimchandani (India), Fernando Stucchi (Brazil) and Arnold van Acker (Belgium). The abstract text must be max. 500 words with no tables or pictures; the deadline for submission is 1st May 2014. A "case studies" format will be offered for oral presentations of structural concrete projects, under execution or recently completed, without a submitted paper. The PowerPoint presentation is subject to review by the Scientific Committee.

The second International, third All-Russian Conference on concrete and reinforced concrete will take place in Moscow from 12 to 16 May 2014. The aim of the conference is to assist scientists, engineers and businessmen in further development of this branch of economy by the exchange of valuable scientific and commercial knowledge. A wide variety of themes related to concrete and reinforced concrete will be addressed. The conference will be accompanied by the specialized exhibition and a contest for the best achievement in concrete and reinforced concrete.
