This webinar aims to expand participant's knowledge on the basics of the design and construction of prestressed concrete (PC) bridges in Japan. The presentation showcases the outline of the Japanese infrastructure and the conceptual thinking behind the construction of a PC balanced cantilever bridge. The speaker will explain prestressed concrete and introduce the design concepts that are considered by the different stakeholders to assist them in determining appropriate solutions for substructures and superstructures of a PC bridge. Through this webinar, you will also get an experience of an online site visit to a bridge construction site in Japan. Additionally, new technologies used for bridge construction and the future vision of the industry will be featured.
