fib Bulletin 103 webinar: Strengthening of concrete structures
Join us for the next fib webinar on fib Bulletin 103 "Guide for Strengthening of Concrete Structures", which will take place on 12 October 2022 at 9 AM CEST. The webinar is free, but places are limited. Make sure you register early!
The fib TG 8.1 developed a ‘how-to-do’ guide on protection, repair, and strengthening techniques for concrete structures, published as fib bulletin 102 (protection and repair) and fib bulletin 103 (strengthening), each one organized in 12 chapters. These are intended to provide both guidelines and case studies, serving as support to the application of fib MC 2020 pre-normative specifications. For each protection, repair and strengthening method addressed in this guide, readers have a description of when to adopt it, which materials and systems are required, which techniques are available, and what kind of equipment is needed. It then presents a summary of stakeholders’ roles and qualifications, design guidelines referring to the most relevant codes and references, the intervention procedure, quality control measures and monitoring and maintenance activities.
Aiming at disseminating the guide, fib organized two webinars. The first one took place on the 14th of September and addressed the content of fib bulletin 102. The second one will take place on the 12th of October and it will focus on the content of fib bulletin 103. Everyone interested in strengthening concrete structures is welcome and attendance is free of charge. A 10 minutes gap between presentations is previewed, providing participants with the opportunity to discuss technical issues with authors.
